As part of preparation for a workshop on visitor research, Stacy Klingler, Assistant Director of the Indiana Historical Society’s Local History Services and Chair of the AASLH Small Museum Committee, collected information from a variety of small history organizations about projects they had recently undertaken.

This report provides the summaries of those projects. Each visitor research project is outlined with the name of the organization, its staff, location, type of project, goal, method, training for staff, cost, time, results, biggest challenge, and additional comments.

This is a useful resource for organizations, particularly small museums, determining what kind of visitor research they need to gather to provide better services and programs.
