Addressing the reality of declining visitation at historical sites and museums nationwide, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation has developed a new program of live, interactive street theater called Revolutionary City.

Colonial Williamsburg has adopted the program as a vehicle for implementing their Education for Citizenship thematic programming.

Its aim is to underline the importance of participation in the civic life of the nation, of being informed about important issues of the day, and of encouraging people to understand that broad-based and regular involvement is essential to the well-being of democracies such as America’s.

Since the implementation of Revolutionary City, Colonial Williamsburg attendance has increased and they’ve received positive visitor feedback.
