Volunteers for the Hillsborough Historical Society in New Hampshire processed, scanned, and transcribed over 54,000 negatives from the Manahan-Phelps-McCulloch Photograph Collection.

The group and its subsequent helpers further educated themselves on techniques in photograph preservation.

Through this process the group and the community members of Hillsborough discovered missing pieces in their town’s history.

This project gives inspiration to other local historical societies that no project is too big or complicated to tackle given proper leadership and determination.
