The Minnesota Historical Society produced an abridged version of its emergency preparedness and recovery plan for outside distribution.

This plan provides procedures for anticipated threats a historical organization can experience such as fire, flooding, vandalism, smoke, electrical/power interruptions, biological agents, and structural/mechanical failures.

The plan outlines how to respond to various types of disasters, assessment expectations, including the role and responsibilities of staff in assessing damage, and recovery procedures for the different types of collections.

The appendix includes the locations and contents of disaster response kits, the locations and vendors of supplies and equipment, and a list of services and outside expertise.
