They say that ongoing research and evaluation has helped them ensure that the past their guests encounter relates to their lives today.

The launch of the study began when numbers to the site began declining and guests were feeling unsatisfied with their experiences at Colonial Williamsburg.

Through conducting research with both visitors and non-visitors, the site implemented new programs that engaged and interacted with visitors based upon their responses.

This article lays out the process of doing visitor research and insists that learning about guests and potential guests should be an ongoing priority.

Additionally, the author points out that the key to sustainability is to engage in this process of continual listening, evaluation and responding.
