As part of the “Discover Pittsburgh” series to promote the 2005 annual meeting in the Steel City, Ned Schano reviews the opening of the Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum.

The addition to the John Heniz Pittsburgh Regional History Center met the Center’s strategic goal of attracting new audiences by increasing the visitation of young families.

Schano explains how the History Center worked to collect sports artifacts and images, items that were not part of the collection prior to its expansion.

Highlights of the artifacts within the museum show how the largest regionally-focused sports museum connects with its community and visitors alike.
