Historic house museums no longer hold the same place they once did within the community. With membership and visitors in decline, many historical societies are struggling with ways to keep themselves relevant. The Moore-Youse House, operated by the Delaware County Historical Society, is no exception. Due to the increasing age of its members the Delaware County Historical Society membership list has steadily decreased over the years. At the same time, the Moore-Youse House has had a decline in visitation. For these reasons, the Board of Directors for the historical society felt that the time has come to re-imagine the organization and house museum. In order to gain some new ideas directed towards a younger generation, the Board of Directors asked Ball State University to create an immersive learning project for students to help them re-imagine the organization. This recommendation report is the result of that project.
