The History Project is an organization working to encourage a reinterpretation of the mainstream historical narrative that often overlooks the cultural contributions the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities have made to the City of Boston.

For over a decade the project has compiled an impressive record of achievement in reaching ambitious goals from groundbreaking exhibitions to compiling library collections and collecting oral histories.

Working with members of the community,  The History Project has also provided back drops to campaigns for same sex marriages in Massachusetts as well as AIDS awareness. The History Project hopes to serve as a model for other minority groups to incorporate their history into the mainstream.
