The Texas Film Round-Up won an AASLH Award of Merit and WOW Award in 2010 for its work in preserving its local, regional and state history through moving images.

The Round-Up is a statewide efforts to preserve and celebrate Texas-related moving images led by the Texas Archive of the Moving Image.

The program consists of four main components: digitization of film and video, growth of an online library of Texas-related film and video, the Texas Film Round-Up Tour, and an educational curriculum for use in K-12 classrooms.

The project has been greatly successful in collecting a variety of footage to be used in the library and is a marker of the state’s innovative approach to preserving, promoting, and making accessible its state and local history as captured by the moving images.
