This paper addresses issues faced by museums and nonprofits as the economy slowed in 2009. Rather than suggesting a quick fix of downsizing until the economy recovers, the authors offer suggestions for ways for institutions to not only survive, but to recreate themselves into stronger and more successful nonprofits.

Offered are six ways of new thinking and new strategies to place an organization on a stronger financial footing, so that when the economy revives, they are positioned to become one of the strongest nonprofits in the area.
